Little Hearts Ferret Rescue was established in 2009 by my wife and I for the education of the safety and welfare of the domestic ferret (Mustela Furo). We work closely with local shelters and rescues to assist in finding abandon or unwanted ferrets a new loving forever home. Our shelter, like most ferret rescues, is run out of our residence in Bowling Green, Ky. Please consider donating or shopping with one of our supporting vendors to assist us in continuing to rescue. Large Humane Society's, although they are well meaning, do not have the knowledge or staffing to properly care for our small cuddly friends. Having a close relationship with local shelters enables us to rescue and provide a quite home for our ferrets until they are adopted by their new family. We have a rigorous adoption process and require that all applicants visit our shelter before adoptions are approved. Although we are NOT a 501c non profit, we are a not for profit rescue. Unfortunately this means that your donations are NOT tax deductible. All donations made to our fur babies goes directly to vetting and daily care. At Little Hearts Ferret Rescue we provide all medical care needed. This can range from routine vaccinations to long-term medical conditions. The average cost of vetting and preparing a ferret for adoption runs about $80.00. This is solely for routine vet checks and vaccinations and doesn't include daily care, food and water or toys. We provide every ferret in our care with any medication or vetting needed, regardless of cost. We work solely off of the donations and contributions from our supporters. As of January 2010 we have aided in the rescue and adoption of approximately 20 fur babies to forever homes. We currently have 8 full-time residents and 9 adoptable's in our care. You can read more about our adoptable's by clicking here. |
